# How Ace Up works

> Your money, the deal, and the venues — the whole shape in one page.

Three things are worth understanding before you play. None of them take long.

## 1. Your money

You deposit to an address that is yours alone and does not change. It is derived
for your account on each chain, so your SOL address and your ETH address are
different and neither is shared with another player.

```mermaid theme={"dark"}
  A[Your wallet] -->|send SOL or ETH| B[Your deposit address]
  B -->|seen on chain, ~30s| C[Your Ace Up balance]
  C -->|bet| D[A hand]
  D -->|settle| C
  C -->|withdraw| E[Any wallet you control]
```

Balances are held per asset. SOL and ETH never mix, there is no conversion
between them and no exchange rate is ever applied to your money.

Amounts are counted in whole base units — lamports for SOL, gwei for ETH — so
nothing is ever rounded against you mid-hand. Bets are placed in multiples of
1,000 units, which is what makes a 3:2 blackjack and a 2:1 insurance pay exactly.

## 2. The deal

Before a single card is dealt, the server picks a secret seed and publishes
`SHA-256(seed)` — a commitment. It cannot change the shuffle after that without
the hash no longer matching.

When the round settles, the seed itself is revealed. Anyone can hash it, compare
it to the commitment, and re-derive the exact shoe the round was dealt from.

```mermaid theme={"dark"}
  A[Server picks a seed] --> B["Publishes SHA-256(seed)"]
  B --> C[Cards are dealt]
  C --> D[Round settles]
  D --> E[Seed revealed]
  E --> F[Anyone replays the shoe]
```

The shoe is six decks, reshuffled for **every round**. That means there is no
count to keep and no penetration to exploit — and it also means the cards you
are dealt owe nothing to the hand before.

## 3. Venues

A **venue** is a place to play. There are two kinds and they work identically
for you as a player:

| | Who runs it | Where you find it |
| - | - | - |
| **House** | Ace Up | [@Aceupgamebot](https://t.me/Aceupgamebot), in your DMs |
| **A group's venue** | That group's owner | That group's own bot |

A group that runs Ace Up has its own Telegram bot with its own name and branding.
The game, the rules, the odds and the fairness proof are the same everywhere —
the owner sets the table limits and the table names, and nothing else.

Your account is global. One balance, one history, one set of limits, wherever
you play.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Owners and their managers **cannot play at their own venue**. The seat refuses
> them. They can play anywhere else, including the house tables.

## What Ace Up never does

* No welcome credit, no free chips, no bonus with a wagering requirement.
* No prompt to deposit after you lose a hand.
* No rake, and no table fee taken from your bet. The house edge is the only
  thing the house earns, and it is [printed](https://aceup.mintlify.site/play/rules.md).
* No conversion of your balance into anything else.
